Q:

What do I do when my Git branch is now out of sync with the master branch?

I was working on a project in a branch called “exercise”. I made some changes and commited.
I have since then merged this branch with the master branch. In my working directory, the changes from the branch “exercise” were immediately applied, but I realized that the master branch should now contain my changes.
What do I do? I’ve already pushed the changes to my GitHub repository. I have no idea what to do now.

A:

You should branch the repo and merge your changes into your “master” branch.
git checkout master
git merge your-branch
git push –force
